Our Mini Movers program is intended for our pre-school ages students. This program has been designed to involve students in a variety of different dance styles to engage students and develop their motor skills, creativity and social skills. Students in our Mini Movers program will engage in activities that incorporate Jazz, Tap, Acrobatics and Classical Ballet into one 30-minute class.
We have two classes on offer for this age group, Mini Movers (Parent and Me) & Mini Movers (Independent). This is to help those little ones who may need some assistance during the class.
Classical Ballet provides a sound foundation for all dance styles building strength and discipline in both mind and body. Classical ballet training develops poise, grace and carriage of the body that is both elegant and functional allowing the dancer to move freely without strain. Students will be trained using a variety of different Classical Ballet syllabi that has been designed to develop coordination, musicality, artistry and refined technique.
It is recommended that all students participate in Classical Ballet Training.
Jazz is a popular dance form incorporating movement of the body that is fast paced and energetic. Jazz is a fun and energetic class that promotes both fitness and flexibility and is performed to upbeat music for all to enjoy.
Students learn a variety of intricate jumps, turns, kicks and travelling combinations all leading towards a stylish and high energy performance whilst improving their fitness level.
Tap is a fun, energetic and percussive style of dance that is performed wearing specially designed shoes with small metal tap plates attached to the soles of them.
Learning the art of Tap dancing encourages good use of rhythm and clarity and is a challenging and often strenuous style of dance.
Tap is great for fitness for all ages and abilities.
Lyrical and Contemporary are mixed into one class. They are a blend of both ballet and modern dance styles encouraging strong centre and core strength combining precision leg work and fluidity of the torso. It is both subtle and dynamic and encourages self-expression, natural movement and personal interpretation.
These are an ever-changing dance style that encourages free and expressive movement.
Acrobatics is a style of dance that builds strength, courage and coordination. It combines dance technique with acrobatic principals allowing it to complement a child in developing flexibility and balance. Using the Acrobatic Arts Syllabus students will work on many different elements such as strength, balance, limber & tumbling in their Acro classes.
Hip hop is an ever-developing dance genre that is a modern fusion between jazz and street dancing. It has an entire culture and many branches that have developed within the genre, including breaking, locking and popping to name a few. It is a fun and energising form of dance in which one is bound to find their own personal style.
Private Lessons are for those students who are interested in performing solos at dance competitions. Students can learn a variety of different styles for their solos.
